On a visit to my father-in-laws home in West Virginia, I noticed his garden was again in superior shape. In West Virginia, drought has stricken the region and water restrictions have been put into place. So my main question was,” how is your garden so superior to your neighbors?”
His answer was clear and straight to the point,” Miracle Grow compost” he said with a smile. You see, he has planted his garden for his entire 60 plus years of existence as well as growing in the family business, The Cavalier Farm.

With the circus surrounding the “Summer of LeBron”, I decided I needed a break. I needed a dose of reality to fill my life. I don’t believe someone on the verge of making an additional $100 million plus was plucking away at my moral fibers. I chose to watch one of my favorite movies, Malcolm X, a Spike Lee masterpiece to say the least. Love or hate the movie, there is a relevance to LeBron.
In the end of the movie, Spike Lee captures children around the world stating a simple, yet powerful phrase, “I am Malcolm X.” Children of this age have only heard stories of the great Muslim leader, never to have personally met him. Hopefully stories of good deeds and life stumbles filled their eager minds. Do you see the parallel now? I am LeBron James.
